Finger Bang: Passion Project

(Finger Bang’s Current Logo)

About The Company

Finger Bang is a renowned nail salon located in Portland, Oregon. The salon is staffed with gifted artists proficient in nail art and designs. They promote client satisfaction, while creating designs that embraces inclusivity, artistry, and innovation. As Finger Bang advances as a company, it’s imperative that the salon embodies a strong brand that is cohesive to their slogan; “Keep your nails long and you're art strong!”

Logo Creation

For the type based logo, I chose the font SBR Florista by Subqistd, because the seamless script font is elegant, clean, and gives the brand a modern look. I intended to leave the text in this logo lowercase because the lowercase type, especially the letter “F," pair together more effectively than the uppercase type from this font. I find this typeface gives a more modern and contemporary touch for the new type based logo. The logo includes a symbol extending from the letter “G” that illustrates the “bang” sound effect. I included the symbol in the logo to give the brand a comic/cartoon effect.

In the primary logo, I used the letter “F” from the font BadTyp. The font is designed by Zavier Cabarga, from CabargaType. I chose this font because it appears as strong and bold, which is the overall look I intended for the logo. I altered the letter “F” by extending the terminal to the right, as well as rounding the upper left corner to better represent the shape of a pistol. This logo also includes the “bang” symbol, that pairs with the lowercase letter “B”.

Color Palette

For the brand, I intended the color palette to include a minimal amount of color, so that the logos compliment the vibrant colors throughout the salon. Both logos include only two colors so that the brand remains memorable and timeless.
